Soothe your nerves a little before you proceed with your engagement shoot, especially if you aren’t used to being in front of the camera all of the time. The thing about the engagement shoot is that the photos that are being produced will actually end up being shown in the slideshow during the reception party of the wedding and this is something that you really need to prepare for as much as possible. What you need to understand is that at the end of the day, you need to come out looking soothed and relaxed during your engagement shoot.
Try to go ahead and take some time off before the day of the engagement shoot.
Make it a point to always keep things on point and to relax a little bit the entire time that you are there. Get a massage. Spend a day in the spa if you think it will help. Try to spend a day in the salon and get yourself glammed up if it is the kind of thing that will help keep you at ease for the engagement photo shoot. You don’t have to feel nervous about this. The photographer you hired is bound to work with you and work with the kind of thing that you are trying to check out at the end of the day so keep things in stride and keep your pace for it.
It’s OK to get a little intimate during the engagement shoot.
You don’t have to feel embarrassed about it at all. for as long as you are being portrayed the right way and for as long as it is something that you and your partner are completely comfortable being in, then there really isn’t any reason why you should feel uneasy about it. You can always get this done by getting to know your photographer a little bit more. If you are comfortable with the aspect of seeing your photographer around and behind the camera all of the time, you get to do away with the initial awkwardness and you can always get to know your photographer better by more or less spending time with him and by talking to him and sharing things with him a little bit more. This is an investment that will always turn out to be worth the effort and this can really help make things work out for you the right way.
Props aren’t always all that corny.
It is completely up to you if you would like to use them. You can play around with the props that you are supposed to use for the engagement shoot. Anything from thought bubbles to whimsical props and so on and so forth will get to help you out the right way in pulling things off according to the way that you have planned them out. For as long as you opt for props that are more or less in line with what you are trying to pull off, then you should be at a pretty good place.
